Android and Web
Androidβ
Install Kidhoot from Google Play. Learning activities and their main audio are included with the app, so the core experience works offline. Android can also download improved offline voices in the background.
An internet connection is still needed for initial installation, updates, optional backup, personal ElevenLabs voices, and occasional missing voice audio.
Web and installable Websiteβ
Open app.kidhoot.com in a current browser.
- Chrome or Edge: open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Safari on iPhone or iPad: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
The Website saves resources after they are opened. Before a trip, open Kidhoot and the activities your child plans to use while still online. Browser or device storage cleanup can remove saved resources and progress that is not backed up.
The Web version does not download Android's improved offline voices. It uses included audio and the browser's voice when offline.
Important iPhone and iPad noteβ
Email backup is unavailable from the installed iPhone or iPad Home Screen version because email links open outside that app. Use Kidhoot on a computer, Android device, or other supported browser for backup.
Current availabilityβ
Kidhoot is currently available through Google Play and the Web. A native App Store version is not currently offered.
